MY EXPERIENCE WITH A TRIBAL INTOLERANT PERSON

I walked into a Primary Health Care Center to get my Yellow Card- an International Certificate of Immunization or Prophylaxis. I am naturally scared of injections and was pretty tensed. It was so visible that everyone present were laughing at me- the children inclusive (a friend called me Agbaya,,,lol). Well, let's just say my fears were unwarranted and it went smoothly. What I want to talk about is what happened when it was time to collect the Yellow Card. The man was of Yoruba origin- Lagos to be precise. He spent everyone's time talking about how he hates the Igbos, how Igbos are wicked and stupid and selfish and unexposed...especially those from Awka, and how we, as a people, do not have a language. He was emphasizing the superiority of the Yoruba and the inferiority of the Igbo. I politely ignored him cos I simply wanted to collect my card and head back to school. So, Aniekan Ekpenyong asked me to write a poem/ article about my TRUE feelings on Nigeria, mirroring her craziness and uniqueness, from my heart. And I did. Though I wrote it, it belonged to him cos I wrote it for him. Well, he just granted me the permission to share it...lol.
